seaford country market (burnett's) // closed :o(

the sign says it is closed to be "remodeled
or until further notice" //

i hope it WILL open again. seaford won't be the same without it.

my oldest sister wrote a song about 'downtown seaford' in 1974
(2 years after we moved here)

here are the lyrics:

SEAFORD by Marian [Miller] McConnell (about 1974)

We moved down from Ohio to Seaford-town

We thought we knew better but the people around

Said, “There’s the Post Office, there’s the store;

That’s all there is and there ain’t no more!”

Even though the town may be quite small

And the mosquitoes are ten feet tall

You’ll sing, “There’s the Post Office, there’s the store;

That’s all there is and there ain’t no more!”

So meet me down by the telephone pole

There ain’t no bridges so there ain’t no toll.

You’ll sing, “There’s the Post Office, there’s the store;

That’s all there is and there ain’t no more!”

After you’ve been here for a while,

You’ll see that in Seaford the people always smile,

And sing, “There’s the Post Office, there’s the store;

That’s all there is but who’d want more?

There’s the Post office, there’s the store;

That’s all there is but WHO’D WANT MORE!”

playtime for the dogs

with me working 18 hours a day lately, the dogs get super antsy so i try to play with them when i take my breaks. today it was storming outside so we stayed in. chip was full of himself.

after awhile, kramer took the high ground and stayed out of chip's way...

and then the group shot. they are so good.
